Founded in 1987 as a grass-roots effort to support Elk Grove’s youth, the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation has grown significantly in its vision of support for the community it serves. Since its beginning, the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation has generated, managed, endowed, and distributed post-secondary scholarships to the area’s youth. While continuing to expand that primary function in terms of size of scholarships as well as the numbers of students assisted, the Foundation is at a turning point in looking toward expansion into other areas of support to our community.
Spotlight at the Ranch - Barbecue and Blues - June 10, 2012
Spotlight at the Ranch - Barbecue & Blues was a new event last year featuring Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers with the Gary Mendoza Band, Val Starr and the Blues Rocket, and Nat Brown. You will also be given the opportunity to tour the historic family home built in 1885. A fun event for the entire family. Children activities will be held from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. Join us for a day full of fun! Sorry, no pets allowed.
Spotlight Elk Grove – September 6, 2012
Spotlight Elk Grove is a premier event to benefit the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation. This event blended a "Taste of…." type event with a service industry tradeshow. More than 60 vendors -- Restaurants, Wineries, Businesses....Sample them all..... Guests receive a hors d’oeuvres plate and wine glass, a bag for promotional items, and a program for the evening with a map of the business locations in the event. This was probably the most talked about event to take place in Elk Grove in 2011.

Spotlight on Scholarships
In May of each year, the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation holds an evening of celebration at which scholarship recipients are formally recognized. Donors and recipients are paired at this event and given an opportunity to become acquainted with each other. This arrangement has proven to be very satisfying and fulfilling for both the scholar and the benefactor.
Spotlight on Donors
We just held our “Spotlight On Donors Night” for all our donors and their guests on May 5, 2012, celebrating our 25th anniversary. It was held at the Cosumnes Oaks High School Culinary Department. Recipients, donors, and parents were given the opportunity to tell how important these scholarships are to them.
