Additional Qualifications

1) Has completed at least 3 years of vocational agriculture instruction; has held an active FFA membership. 2) Will attend a 2-4 yr college or vocational school; 3) Show an interest in development of future agricultural progress; 4) Provide an essay detailing the following information: a) List the following: (1) FFA offices held and leadership activities; (2) planned college program of study and school; (3) reason for choosing agriculture as a career; (4) school activities (athletics, Student body office, music/art, other); (5) list community activities and/or special interests/hobbies. b) Describe your supervised agriculture practice program over high school career: (1) For each year (i.e., Freshman/sophomore/junior/senior) describe your plans, important lessons learned, successes/failures, and your long- term plans. c) If you have a current supervised practice program give details regarding utilization of land, equipment, age and type of livestock (include whether registered, purebred or grade), or partnership agreements, stating the combined scope of the enterprise and the share of income that goes to you. d) Describe how this program will contribute to your long-range plans for a career in agriculture.
