The deadline for applying for scholarships for this year was January 31, 2012. Students will be notified mid-March if they received a scholarship. Spotlight on Scholarships, where the Community Foundation scholarships will be awarded, is scheduled for May 3, 2012. Scholarship recipients will receive letters in March giving them information on the event.

The application deadline is:

  1)  JANUARY 20, 2012 - If turned into school Career Center (Preferred Method).

  2)  If mailed, must be postmarked by JANUARY 31, 2012.  Mail to Elk Grove Community Foundation,             P.O. Box  2021, Elk Grove, CA  95759-2021

 It is very important that you follow the steps below:

 Step 1:   Read carefully the criteria of the scholarship(s) for which you are applying.  Only apply for scholarships for which you are qualified.

Step 2:  The first time you apply for a scholarship, you must create a new account.  Make sure your e-mail address is correct or you will not be able to print the application to turn in.  If you do not get an e-mail with your application attached, check the e-mail address you filled out for accuracy.

 Step 3:  Fill out all information on the application, then hit CONTINUE (at the end of the application).  Make sure that the application is complete before hitting CONTINUE.  If your application is not complete, it will not be considered.  Hitting CONTINUE will save your information so you can easily fill out additional scholarship applications.  It is important that you hit CONTINUE for every scholarship you apply for so an e-mail will be sent to you so you can print each application.

 Step 4:  Print the application(s) that is sent to you by e-mail.  Sign the application(s) and turn in to your high school Career Center or mail to the Elk Grove Community Foundation by the deadline date to be official.  Please be sure to include information requested for each scholarship such as:  brief personal statement, transcripts, letter(s) of recommendation, and/or essay as indicated on the scholarship criteria.

PLEASE NOTE:

Effective October 1, 2010, all Scholarship applications must be completed on line.  You will be e-mailed a copy to print and submit with the appropriate documentation.  Applications generate tracking numbers, so it is unacceptable to use one printed application to apply for multiple scholarships.

 At this time, scholarship applications cannot be filled out on a MAC.

Only students who receive scholarships will be notified.
